How to assemble your scooter – 10 steps to the finished scooter
With the following 10 steps you can assemble your scooter very easily. The tips apply to the vast majority of scooters from different brands.
Step 1
As soon as your package arrives, open it and take out all the individual parts for your scooter. Next, remove the individual components from any protective film and other boxes.
step 2
With most models you now have two components:
- The running board with wheels
- The driver
The individual components are already pre-assembled. Scooters in the higher price ranges are sometimes already fully assembled.
step 3
You will receive operating and assembly instructions with your scooter. Read the instructions and the information on assembling the scooter carefully. Pay attention to the safety instructions!
Step 4
If your scooter has a folding mechanism, familiarize yourself with how it works. Check that it is working properly. It is also important that all screws are tightened. You should also check this.
Step 5
After you have checked all the important points, you can assemble your scooter. Here's how:
- Put the handlebar on the scooter in the handlebar clamp
- The handlebars must point exactly in the direction of travel
- Check from above that the handlebars are vertical to the front wheel
Step 6
Check that the handlebar clamp is pushed all the way down. The screws must point towards the footboard. There is a slot on the handlebar. This slot should be located exactly between the screws. This will allow you to set the correct contact pressure in the next steps.
Step 7
Now tighten the screws on the handlebar clamp. IMPORTANT: Tighten the screws one at a time. Go diagonally from one screw to the other and tighten them a little further. This way you tighten all the screws evenly and distribute the contact pressure optimally.
Step 8
Check whether the handlebar height is set correctly. The arms should form a right angle to the handlebar. If the handlebar is not yet where it should be, loosen the screws on the clamp a little and adjust the handlebar again. Then tighten the screws again as described in the previous step and check again whether the handlebar is now correctly adjusted.
Step 9
Your scooter is now fully assembled. Now you should check whether the brakes are working properly. Check again whether all screws are tightened. If you have a height-adjustable scooter or a scooter with a folding mechanism, you should also check the quick-release fasteners on the handlebars and the folding mechanism.
Step 10
Now you can finally start using your new scooter. To be on the safe side, do a few careful test laps. After a while, you should check all the screws again to make sure they are tight. Screws can become loose due to the vibration when driving.
