ACADEMY Grade 2 Belt – the lightweight children's bike for beginners

The Grade 2 from Academy is a 14-inch bike specifically designed for children. In collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopedics and Sports in Bielefeld, Academy set out to create the lightest, highest-quality children's bike possible, optimally tailored to kids. Ergonomics and weight were the decisive factors here.

Especially for children who want to learn how to ride a bike, weight is a crucial factor. The Academy Grade 2 weighs just 5.3 kg, making it one of the lightest children's bikes on the market. Thanks to its low weight, the Academy Grade handles corners better and makes it easier for young riders to accelerate and climb hills. With a lightweight bike, little ones also don't need as much effort to get the bike moving.

The low step-through height of the frame allows children to mount the bike easily. The patented Vario stem grows in height and length and can be adjusted continuously, allowing the bike to be optimally adapted to the seating position. The Q-factor reflects the rider's pedaling movement. For children, it is particularly important to use a low Q-factor so that pedaling is optimally suited to their anatomy.

Assembly

All ACADEMY bikes come 80% pre-assembled. Only the pedals, handlebars, and saddle need to be installed. We recommend checking the brakes before use and readjusting them if necessary. We recommend having the bike assembled by a professional bicycle mechanic.
