ACADEMY Grade 3 Belt – the lightweight kids' bike for beginners

The Grade 3 from Academy is a 16-inch bicycle specifically designed for children. In collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopedics and Sports in Bielefeld, Academy set out to create the lightest, highest-quality children's bike possible, tailored perfectly to children's needs. Ergonomics and weight were the decisive factors here.

For children who are just learning to ride a bike, weight is a crucial factor. The Academy Grade 3 weighs just 5.5 kg, making it one of the lightest children's bikes on the market. Thanks to its low weight, the Academy Grade handles better in corners and makes it easier for young riders to accelerate and climb hills. With a lightweight bike, little ones also don't need as much effort to get the bike moving.

The low step-through height of the frame makes it easy for children to get on and off. The patented Vario stem grows in height and length, allowing for stepless adjustment so that the bike can be optimally adapted to the rider's sitting position. The Q-factor reflects the rider's pedaling motion. It is especially important for children to have a low Q-factor so that pedaling is optimally aligned with their physical needs.

Assembly

All ACADEMY bikes are 80% pre-assembled. Only the pedals, handlebars, and saddle need to be attached. We recommend checking the brakes before use and readjusting them if necessary. We recommend having the bicycle assembled by a bike mechanic.
