ACADEMY Grade 4 – the lightweight kids' bike for beginners

The Grade 4 from Academy is a 20-inch bike specifically developed for children. In collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopedics and Sports in Bielefeld, Academy set itself the goal of producing the lightest, highest-quality kids' bike possible, optimally tailored to children. Ergonomics and weight were the decisive factors here.

Weight is a crucial factor, especially for children who want to learn to ride a bike. The Academy Grade 4 weighs just 7.5 kg and is one of the lightest kids' bikes on the market. Due to its low weight, the Academy Grade handles corners better and makes it easier for young riders to accelerate and climb hills. With a lightweight bike, little ones also don't need as much strength to get the bike moving.

The low step-through frame allows children to mount the bike easily. The patented Vario stem grows with the child in height and length and is infinitely adjustable, so the bike can be optimally adapted to the seating position. The Q-factor reflects the rider's pedaling motion. It is particularly important for children to have a low Q-factor so that pedaling is optimally tuned to them.

Assembly

All ACADEMY bikes are 80% pre-assembled. Only the pedals, handlebars, and saddle need to be fitted. We recommend checking the brakes before use and readjusting them if necessary. We recommend having the bike assembled by a bicycle mechanic.
