ACADEMY Grade 4 Belt – the lightweight kids' bike for beginners

The Grade 4 Belt by Academy is a 20-inch bicycle specially designed for children. In collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopedics and Sports in Bielefeld, Academy set out to create the lightest, highest-quality children's bike possible, perfectly tailored to children's needs. Ergonomics and weight were the deciding factors.

For children who are just learning to ride a bike, weight is a crucial factor. The Academy Grade 4 Belt weighs just 7.5 kg, making it one of the lightest children's bikes on the market. Thanks to its low weight, the Academy Grade handles corners better and makes it easier for young riders to accelerate and climb hills. With a lightweight bike, children also don't need as much effort to get the bike moving.

The low step-through frame allows children to mount the bike easily. The patented Vario stem grows in both height and length and is infinitely adjustable, allowing the bike to be optimally adapted to the rider's seating position. The Q-factor reflects the rider's pedaling motion. For children, it is particularly important to use a low Q-factor so that the pedaling motion is optimally suited to them.

Assembly

All ACADEMY bikes are 80% pre-assembled. Only the pedals, handlebars, and saddle need to be installed. We recommend checking the brakes before use and adjusting them if necessary. We recommend having the bike assembled by a bicycle mechanic.
