ACADEMY Grade 5 – the lightweight children's bike for beginners

The Grade 5 from Academy is a 24-inch bicycle specially designed for children. In collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopedics and Sports in Bielefeld, Academy set itself the goal of producing a children's bike that is as lightweight and high-quality as possible, perfectly tailored to children. Ergonomics and weight were the decisive factors here.

Especially for children who want to learn how to ride a bike, weight is a crucial factor. The Grade 5 from Academy weighs just 8.2 kg, making it one of the lightest children's bikes on the market. Thanks to its low weight, the Academy Grade handles corners better and makes it easier for young riders to accelerate and climb hills. With a lightweight bike, children also don't need as much effort to get the bike moving.

The low step-through frame allows children to get on and off easily. The patented Vario stem grows in height and length and can be infinitely adjusted, allowing the bike to be optimally adapted to the seating position. The Q-factor reflects the rider's pedaling motion. For children, it is particularly important to use a low Q-factor so that the pedaling motion is optimally matched to their anatomy.

Assembly

All ACADEMY bikes are 80% pre-assembled. Only the pedals, handlebars, and saddle need to be fitted. We recommend checking the brakes before use and readjusting them if necessary. We recommend having the bike assembled by a bicycle mechanic.
