ACADEMY Grade 2 – the lightweight children's bike for beginners

The Grade 2 by Academy is a 14-inch bike specifically designed for children. In collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopedics and Sports in Bielefeld, Academy set out to create a high-quality, lightweight children's bike that is perfectly tailored to kids. Ergonomics and weight played a decisive role in this process.

Especially for children who want to learn how to ride a bike, weight is a decisive factor. The Grade 2 from Academy weighs just 5.3 kg and is one of the lightest children's bikes on the market. Due to its low weight, the Academy Grade handles better in corners and makes it easier for little riders to accelerate and overcome inclines. With a lightweight bike, children also don't need as much effort to get the bike moving.

The low step-through height of the frame allows children to mount the bike easily. The patented Vario stem grows in height and length and can be adjusted continuously so that the bike can be optimally adapted to the rider's seating position. The Q-factor reflects the rider's pedaling movement. For children, it is particularly important to use a low Q-factor so that pedaling is perfectly aligned with their physical needs.

Assembly

All ACADEMY bikes are 80% pre-assembled. Only the pedals, handlebars, and saddle need to be installed. We recommend checking the brakes before use and readjusting them if necessary. We recommend having the bike assembled by a bicycle mechanic.
