ACADEMY Grade 3 – the lightweight kids' bike for beginners

The Grade 3 by Academy is a 16-inch bicycle specifically designed for children. In collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopedics and Sports in Bielefeld, Academy set itself the goal of producing the lightest, highest-quality kids' bike possible, optimized for children. Ergonomics and weight were the deciding factors here.

Product Details

Weight is a crucial factor, especially for children who want to learn how to ride a bike. The Grade 3 by Academy weighs just 5.5 kg and is one of the lightest kids' bikes on the market. Thanks to its low weight, the Academy Grade handles better in corners and makes it easier for young riders to accelerate and climb inclines. With a lightweight bike, little ones also do not need as much strength to get the bike moving.

The low step-through height of the frame makes it easy for children to get on. The patented Vario stem grows in height and length and can be adjusted continuously so that the bike can be optimally adapted to the rider's posture. The Q-factor reflects the rider's pedaling motion. For children, it is particularly important to use a low Q-factor so that pedaling is optimally adapted to them.

Assembly

All ACADEMY bikes are 80% pre-assembled. Only the pedals, handlebars, and saddle need to be fitted. We recommend checking the brakes before use and readjusting them if necessary. We recommend having the bike assembled by a bicycle mechanic.
